Send Hasina back first, then Bangladesh will help repatriate undocumented people: Rashed Prodhan

Jatiya Ganotantrik Party (Jagpa) Vice-President Rashed Prodhan today (8 May) said Bangladesh is willing to cooperate with the Indian government in repatriating undocumented Bangladeshis staying in India, but Delhi has to send back ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina first.

Referring to remarks by Indian Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal on the matter, he said, “We sincerely want to help the Indian government. So, first send back genocidal fascist Sheikh Hasina.”

Rashed also criticised Indian politician Suvendu Adhikari for calling Hasina Bangladesh’s “legitimate prime minister.”

“Please send Sheikh Hasina to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. We will receive her with a salute and take her straight to jail,” he said, adding, “The gallows are ready” for her. 

Speaking as the chief guest at a ceremony at the National Press Club this morning, where leaders and activists from several political and social organisations formally joined Jagpa, the party spokesperson, welcoming the new members, said they have joined the party not for sharing power, but to build a humane and justice-based Bangladesh.

He also warned that the government may encounter a large-scale movement if the July Charter is not enforced according to the people’s mandate.
