One of the firearms displayed in the video resembles a Taurus pistol used by law enforcers, but its ownership and how it reached the man remain unconfirmed.

“Run while you still have time. I am Tufan” — a young man from Chattogram’s Raozan is seen making the threat in a video that recently surfaced on social media, with firearms and magazines laid out in front of him.
In the 21-second video, the youth is heard saying, “Mend your ways. Stop extortion. Run while you still have time. I am Tufan.”
According to police, the video dates back to before December last year, when they found it on the mobile phone of Hridoy, better known as Bullet Hridoy.
Speaking to The Business Standard today (4 November), Mohammad Belayet Hossain, assistant superintendent of police (ASP) of Chattogram District Police’s Raozan-Rangunia circle, said that the video was found on Bullet Hridoy’s mobile phone after he was detained last December.
Hridoy was questioned about it then, the ASP said.
The ASP said one of the eight weapons shown in the video looks like a Taurus pistol used by police.
It could not be confirmed whether the weapon belongs to the police or how it reached the man, he added.
Hridoy is the son of Badsha, an alleged associate of Mamun, a member of the Fazal Haque gang of South Raozan.
In the video, eight pistols are seen arranged on a piece of cloth, and a man is heard saying: “You haven’t seen the game yet. Mend your ways. Stop extortion. I have bought tickets to death with money. Run while there is time. I am Tufan.”
ASP Belayet said Bullet Hridoy was also detained in December last year. He was arrested in March and July as well, and later released on bail.
No weapons were recovered from Hridoy when he was detained, and he currently faces no criminal cases, the ASP added.
Belayet also said police are looking into why the video was made and where the weapons came from.
Asked whom the threat was meant for, the ASP said there had been a dispute between the sides of Bullet Hridoy and Arafat Mamun — who is also reportedly a leader of another gang.
The video is believed to have spread from various groups after that dispute. But who was being addressed in the video has not been confirmed.
According to law enforcement sources, 27 killings have taken place in Raozan since the ouster of the Awami League regime on 5 August 2024, 20 of them over political disputes. In the same period, more than 100 shootouts and clashes have left more than 350 people injured.
