Reese Witherspoon has shared an important update regarding the condition of her father, John Witherspoon, after he was taken to the hospital.
The Legally Blonde actress has reassured her fans that her dad is “fine now” after being hospitalized following a fall.
“Earlier today, several outlets reported that my dad was taken to the hospital after a fall. I want to let everyone know that he is fine now,” Reese penned on her Instagram Story.
“He is being taken care of by wonderful doctors and nurses,” continued the Wild actress.
Concluding the statement, Reese thanked those who had reached out to check on her family.
“Thank you to everyone who reached out,” she wrote. “It means the world to our family.”
For those unversed, Reese’s father was found face down near the swimming pool at his home in Nashville, Tennessee.
A fellow resident spotted the 84-year-old from their balcony and alerted the doorman.
“The doorman and building manager rolled him over and they said, ‘Dr. Witherspoon, are you OK?’” the source told Page Six.
“He blinked his eyes, and that’s when he was rushed to the hospital,” the insider added.
John is an otolaryngologist surgeon. As per Cleveland Clinic, an ENT surgeon treats conditions affecting the ear, nose, and throat.
