The University of Dhaka has once again emerged as Bangladesh’s highest-ranked university in the QS World University Rankings 2027, securing a place among the world’s top 600 universities for the third consecutive year.
The ranking, titled QS World University Rankings 2027: Top Global Universities, was published today (18 June) by UK-based higher education and research organisation Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), according to a press release issued by the university’s Public Relations Office.
According to the release, the ranking was prepared based on 1,504 universities worldwide.
QS currently uses nine indicators to evaluate the overall quality of universities, with each indicator carrying a maximum score of 100. The final position is determined based on the average score across the indicators.
Dhaka University reflected notable progress across several indicators in the published results.
The university’s overall score stood at 28.3. It also scored 28.3 in the Academic Reputation indicator, reflecting its long-standing contribution to higher education and research in the country.
In the Employment Outcomes indicator, Dhaka University scored 95.0, reflecting the high acceptance and success of its graduates in the workplace.
At the same time, the university scored 50.8 in the Employer Reputation indicator, indicating a positive image of Dhaka University students among employers.
In the International Research Network indicator, Dhaka University scored 61.1, reflecting increased research collaboration at the international level.
The university scored 60.6 in the Sustainability indicator, highlighting its commitment to the environment, social responsibility and achieving sustainable development goals.
On the other hand, Dhaka University scored 8.0 each in the Citations per Faculty and Faculty Student Ratio indicators.
It scored 2.0 in the International Faculty Ratio indicator and 1.4 in the International Student Ratio indicator.
