President resigning, Speaker to brief media in parliament at 5pm

Speaker of the parliament Hafiz Uddin Ahmed will hold an emergency press conference at 5pm today (24 July) following the receipt of President Mohammed Shahabuddin’s resignation letter, according to a statement issued by the Bangladesh National Parliament Secretariat.

The press conference will take place at the Oath Room (East Block, Level-1) of the parliament building in Dhaka.
