The government has transferred six deputy inspectors general (DIGs) and three superintendents of police (SPs) to different units of Bangladesh Police.
The transfers were made through two separate notifications issued today (5 July) by the Ministry of Home Affairs. The notifications were signed by Deputy Secretary Tousif Ahmed on behalf of the president.
According to one notification, Special Branch (SB) DIG Md Iqbal Hossain has been transferred as DIG of Dhaka Range, while Barishal Metropolitan Police (BMP) Commissioner Md Ashiq Said has been posted as DIG of Rajshahi Range.
The notification also said DIG of Police Headquarters Abu Raihan Muhammad Saleh has been appointed BMP commissioner, DIG of Barishal Range Md Mostafizur Rahman has been transferred to Khulna Range, DIG of Khulna Range Md Rezaul Haque has been posted to the Industrial Police, and DIG of Rajshahi Range Mohammad Shahjahan has been transferred to the Armed Police Battalion (APBn).
Under a separate notification, Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Superintendent of Police Mohammad Badrul Alam Molla has been appointed SP of Jhalakathi, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Deputy Commissioner Shahriar Mohammad Miazi has been posted as SP of Faridpur, and Faridpur SP Md Nazrul Islam has been transferred to the CID.
Both notifications said the transfers were made in the public interest and would take effect immediately.
