Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today (6 November) spoke with a group of children about their favourite games and promised to arrange sports equipment for them.
He interacted with the children after offering Jummah prayers at the Central Mosque of the Bangladesh Navy Headquarters in Banani.
“After prayers, the prime minister talked to the children, enquired after their well-being and asked what games they played and liked,” said his Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon.
Some of the children said they played football and cricket, while Tarique asked whether they also played basketball and table tennis, Rumon said.
The prime minister told the children that he would arrange sports equipment for them, he said.
Tarique later shook hands with the children and bade them farewell, saying, “Okay, everyone stay well.”
The interaction came a day after the prime minister inaugurated the second season of the nationwide “Notun Kuri Sports” competition at Khulna District Stadium yesterday.
