Bangladesh Coast Guard has arrested three forest pirates along with arms and ammunition during a special drive in the Sundarbans under the ongoing “Operation Mangrove Shield.”
The arrested pirates are Md Mehedi Hasan, 25, Md Ramzan Sharif, 19, and Md Enayet, 25, who are active members of the Karim Sharif gang, from Bhanga area in Faridpur district.
The information was disclosed at a press briefing by Lieutenant Ikra Mohammad Nasif, executive officer of the Coast Guard vessel BCGS Touhid this morning (15 May).

The operation began on Wednesday (13 May) after intelligence reports said members of the gang were staying near the Mora Chanmia Khali canal of the Shyala River in the Sundarbans.
The official said the gang had abducted fishermen, who were later rescued by the Forest Department.
