Newly appointed Chief Information Commissioner Professor Dr Nahreen Islam Khan and two commissioners, SAM Mahfuzur Rahman and Khan Mohammad Abul Hossain, paid a courtesy call on Information and Broadcasting Minister Andaleeve Rahman today (18 October).
The commissioners met the information minister at his office at the Secretariat here this afternoon.
Mahbuba Farjana, Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, and Md Shah Alam, Additional Secretary of the ministry, were present.
During the meeting, the newly appointed members of the Information Commission discussed various issues, including people’s right to information.
Yesterday (17 October), the government issued separate notifications through the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, appointing Professor Dr Nahreen Islam Khan as the Chief Information Commissioner. Simultaneously, journalists SAM Mahfuzur Rahman and Khan Mohammad Abul Hossain were appointed as Information Commissioners.
