In 2019, Brad Pitt stepped into the Cliff Booth role, a laid-back stuntman in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
His performance was so top-notch that he won his first Academy Award as an actor.
Later, Netflix announced it would make a movie centering on the character.
And now they have unveiled the title of the film: The Futher Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth.
The sequel to Quentin Tarantino’s hit 2019 film will release in IMAX cinemas on Nov. 25 for only two weeks.
Then it will land on the streaming platform on Dec. 23.
Pitt, in addition to returning as Cliff Booth, will also serve as producer.
Other stars include Elizabeth Debicki, Scott Caan, Carla Gugino, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Peter Weller, Matt Grove, JB Tadena, Corey Fogelmanis, and Karren Karagulian.
Tarantino wrote the screenplay, with David Fincher directing and Ceán Chaffin producing.
But why is the filmmaker opting not to direct the follow-up to his 2019 movie?
“I love this script, but I’m still walking down the same ground I’ve already walked,” he previously said on the Church of Tarantino podcast. “It just kind of unenthused me.”
Netflix, on its part, previously teased the upcoming movie on this year’s Super Bowl with a brief teaser trailer.
In the clip, Pitt was heard saying, “I don’t possess many talents, but I know better than to get in the way of a good story.”
Given the hype around the forthcoming film, it is expected to be a hit, as Once Upon a Time in Hollywood was a stunning success, earning $377 million globally and nominations at the Academy Awards.
