The Embassy of Nepal in Dhaka has opened a dedicated bank account to receive voluntary financial contributions for victims of the devastating flash floods that struck the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli river areas of Nepal on 26 August.
In a statement issued yesterday (8 September), the embassy said it had received an outpouring of messages of solidarity and offers of assistance from the Bangladesh government and people, as well as from friends, well-wishers and various institutions supporting Nepal during the crisis.
Responding to growing inquiries about how to assist the flood victims, the embassy established the dedicated account to facilitate financial donations, the statement added.
The embassy appealed to individuals, organisations and institutions in Bangladesh to come forward and support the people of Nepal at this difficult time.
“Every contribution, big or small, will be deeply appreciated,” the embassy said.
It also expressed gratitude to people and institutions in Bangladesh for their solidarity and support following the floods.
