Veteran wicketkeeper-batter Mushfiqur Rahim has become the first Bangladeshi cricketer to score 12,000 runs in List A cricket.
He reached the milestone during Mohammedan Sporting Club’s Dhaka Premier League (DPL) match against Gazi Group Cricketers at BKSP yesterday (5 June).
The match was pushed to the reserve day after rain interrupted play.
Riding on Mushfiqur’s record-breaking century, Mohammedan secured a 47-run victory over Gazi Group today under the DLS method.
The experienced batter smashed a 55-ball 100, striking eight fours and six sixes before being dismissed exactly on the century mark.
The innings was also the 16th List A century of Mushfiqur’s career.
