Several crude bombs exploded in the Kalabagan bus stand area of Dhaka city this afternoon (30 October), leading police to detain four people with the help of locals and seized three more unexploded bombs from them.
The incident took place around 12:30pm, confirmed Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s (DMP) Assistant Commissioner Saddam Hossain of Dhanmondi Zone under the Ramna Division.
The residence of International Crimes Tribunal’s (ICT-2) Justice Manjurul Bachid is located near the blast site, according to local sources.
Police said a group of miscreants detonated four to five crude bombs in the Kalabagan bus stand area. Locals caught four people and handed them over to police.
Three more live crude bombs were recovered from their possession. DMP’s Bomb Disposal Unit later defused the bombs, Saddam told The Business Standard.
He said the detainees had been taken to the police station. Further details would be disclosed later.
