Five more children died from confirmed or suspected measles in the 24 hours until 8am today (15 July), taking the nationwide death toll from the outbreak to 771, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
With the latest update, the number of suspected measles-related deaths has risen to 676, while laboratory-confirmed measles deaths stand at 95.
During the same 24-hour period, 920 new suspected measles cases were reported, raising the cumulative number of suspected cases across the country to 114,164.
The DGHS also recorded 172 new laboratory-confirmed measles cases, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 13,907.
Since 15 March, a total of 96,878 patients with suspected measles have been admitted to hospitals nationwide. Of them, 93,260 have recovered, according to DGHS data.
