Three more children died from measles-like symptoms in 24 hours until 8am today (26 September), bringing Bangladesh’s combined tally of confirmed and suspected measles-related deaths to 1,087.
With the latest update, the number of suspected measles deaths has risen to 986 and the number of laboratory-confirmed measles deaths to 101, according to the daily update from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
A total of 980 new suspected measles cases were reported during the 24-hour period, bringing the cumulative number of suspected cases nationwide to 1,86,813.
Meanwhile, 101 new confirmed measles cases were recorded, bringing the total number of laboratory-confirmed infections to 21,099.
Since 15 March, a total of 1,65,155 patients with suspected measles have been hospitalised across the country. Of them, 1,58,576 have recovered, according to DGHS.
