More than 900 patients with measles-like symptoms were hospitalised nationwide in the last 24 hours

The death toll from measles and measles-like symptoms in Bangladesh has risen to 613 after three more children died in the 24 hours between 8am yesterday (5 June) and 8am today (6 June), according to the latest data released by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
During the same period, 915 patients with measles-like symptoms were admitted to hospitals across the country.
Among them, 117 cases were laboratory-confirmed as measles.
According to DGHS data, at least 91 children have died from confirmed measles infections so far this year, while another 522 children died with symptoms consistent with the disease.
The health directorate said that between 15 March and 6 June, a total of 9,620 measles cases were confirmed through laboratory testing nationwide.
The latest health bulletin also said 77,791 suspected measles cases have so far been identified across the country.
Of them, 58,964 patients have already been discharged after receiving treatment.
