A man has died in Bagerhat after being struck by lightning.
The incident occurred yesterday (29 April) in Sarkardanga village under Sadar upazila, said Shahidul Islam, inspector of Bagerhat Model Police Station.
Shahidul said that after the rain and storm had eased, the deceased, Robin Howladar, 53, went to a field to collect his cattle. He was struck by lightning there and died on the spot.
The victim sustained burn injuries on several parts of his body, Shahidul added.
His funeral is expected to be held at the family cremation ground, the inspector said.
