A man was seriously injured after being attacked with a machete and allegedly robbed of Tk5 lakh in the Tin Poler Matha area of Chattogram city.

The incident took place around 12:30am early today (1 November). He was later admitted to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH).

The victim was identified as Zakir Hossain, a local businessman, said Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-charge Jahidul Kabir.

The OC said police had started working on the case after receiving information about the incident.

“We are trying to identify and arrest the attackers. We are collecting CCTV footage from the scene. We hope to identify them soon and take legal action,” he added.
