A fire broke out at Khulna City Medical College and Hospital in Khulna city at around 10pm today (11 June).
According to authorities, 12 fire service units are working to bring the blaze under control at the private hospital located at Moylapota intersection in the city.
Confirming the incident, Shafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Khulna Sadar Police Station said fire service personnel were conducting firefighting operations, while multiple police units were assisting them at the scene.
Witnesses said the fire is suspected to have originated in the hospital’s ground-floor generator room and smoke later spread to the upper floors of the 16-storey building.
No casualties or injuries were immediately reported.
