K-Fest, a celebration of Korean culture in Bangladesh, marked its 10th anniversary on 6 November with a day-long event at the North Court of Dhaka’s Jamuna Future Park, bringing K-pop fans, performers and Korean culture enthusiasts under one roof.
The anniversary edition, K-Fest 2026, was organised by BD K-Family with support from the Embassy of the Republic of Korea. Ambassador Kim Ji-Joon, along with other diplomats and guests, attended the event, according to a press release.
K-Fest is an initiative led by BD K-Family Founder Tashnuva Zahan and its President Saiful Islam. Over the past decade, the organisation has been working to promote Korean culture and strengthen cultural ties between Bangladesh and South Korea.
The highlight of this year’s festival was a K-pop dance competition, in which Lumen i were crowned champion. Rakuzan X Lost Dynasty finished as first runners-up, while Afran Jarif came second runner-up.
The festival also featured live art, caricature drawing, a Hangul wall display, Korean tourism and study-in-Korea booths, live performances, and K-pop video showcases.
There was also a K-drama-themed photo booth, a dedicated K-beauty zone with Korean skin care products, and a range of games. Visitors were offered free gifts, as well as complimentary ramen and Korean chicken.
The event provided a platform for local talent and brought together Bangladesh’s growing Hallyu community, the press release added.
