Jatiya Jubo Shokti, the youth wing of the National Citizen Party, surrounded the Department of Youth Development on Sunday (11 October), pressing a five-point demand that includes the resignation of State Minister for Youth and Sports Aminul Haque over an alleged recruitment test question paper leak.
Leaders and activists of the organisation took position in front of the directorate around 12pm, where its convener, Advocate Tariqul Islam, announced the demands.
Their five-point demands include Aminul Haque’s resignation as state minister, the formation of an independent and impartial investigation committee into the alleged question paper leak, and the arrest and punishment of those involved.
They also demanded an end to politicisation, nepotism, and irregularities in recruitment, and called for appointments based on merit.
The group further demanded an end to harassment in the name of verification and alleged manipulation of viva marks.
They also called on the government to create employment opportunities for unemployed youths and publish a specific action plan for youth development.
