The joining process for 14,384 candidates recommended for appointment as assistant teachers at government primary schools will begin in October, according to the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education.
Primary and Mass Education Secretary Md Sakhawat Hossain made the announcement after an emergency virtual meeting on teacher recruitment held at the ministry today (1 August).
“We are working on a priority basis to complete the appointment process for the recommended candidates. The recruitment process was delayed because of investigations and lengthy procedures,” he said.
The government expected the joining process for the teachers to begin by 30 October after completing all necessary procedures, he added.
He also said administrative steps were underway to expedite the recruitment process for the recommended candidates.
The 14,384 assistant teachers will receive professional training after joining and being posted, the secretary said.
