Jenny Mollen has finally broken her silence on her separation from Jason Biggs after almost two decades of their marriage.
For those unaware, Mollen and Biggs, who first crossed paths on the set of their 2008 romance comedy film My Best Friend’s Girl, tied the knot in a spontaneous elopement at a government center in Los Angeles on April 23, 2008. Their formal wedding ceremony took place in Napa Valley, California, in July 2008. The couple welcomed two sons together, Sid, 12, and Lazlo, 8.
On the June 23rd episode of the Not Skinny but Fat podcast, the 47-year-old American actress and writer opened up about her split from Biggs after 18 years of their marriage by saying, “It’s surreal, yeah, I feel like it’s really bizarre.”
She went on to state that parting ways with your partner after having kids is not an easy decision to make.
Mollen quipped, “People will be like, ‘How does it feel?’ And I’m like, ‘I don’t know, the same?’ We live in two different places, but we’re still tethered.”
“We have kids. We still talk 18 times a day about everyone’s schedule and after school and holidays … So it isn’t a normal breakup where you’re like, ‘See ya!’ and then maybe we’ll bump into each other in 10 years and talk about it. It’s not like that,” the Amateur Night star elaborated.
Mollen rejected the common belief that her and Biggs’s relationship was not “romantic” anymore, explaining, “It’s still romantic. We still love each other. It’s just not, I don’t know. It’s a different type of romance. It’s, like, your best friend.”
“We love each other, and it is a solid relationship. We have always been amazing co-parents and teammates,” she emphasized.
It is pertinent to mention that the news of Jenny Mollen and Jason Biggs’ separation was confirmed in May of this year.
