A vide shared by the singer and actress on Instagram shows them sitting together in a water taxi at night in Venice.
Lopez is smiling with a folding fan in her hand while Oskar, 18, wearing a white sleeveless top and jeans, is looking down at a smartphone.
While the mother is seen enjoying the moment, her child looks completely indifferent to their surroundings and completely engrossed in the cell phone.
Commenting on the video, a large number of fans pointed out how people are invested in their phones.
Several parents also commented on the video, expressing concern about how children are becoming addicted to screens.
“That’s some intense phone/doomscrolling addiction,” commented one X user.
Another wrote, “I would have taken that phone and launched it into the damn water.”
A third said, “You put the boundaries on your kids. Not when they are 18. That’s too late as you can see.”
