Jason Sudeikis has finally talked about the special role his hometown, Kansas City, played in the premiere of Ted Lasso season 4.
While conversing with PEOPLE magazine, the 50-year-old American actor and comedian opened up about how it felt to make a comeback and show his castmates around the special place for the Apple TV series.
Sudeikis, who plays the titular character in the series sports drama, said, “I love getting to go back home,” adding that he does get to return to the city “a couple times a year” for charity events.
“And when we do those events, we invite a lot of folks from out of town to participate in there,” he shared. “So, I’ve had the luxury of getting to re-learn and re-love, if that’s a phrase, my hometown over and over again through other people’s eyes.”
The We’re the Millers star went on to admit that he was over the moon to have landed “another opportunity” that allowed him to explore his hometown from an external perspective when they were filming for the fourth season.
“Much like the characters, by the end of our time shooting there, which was about 10 days, they loved it,” Sudeikis unveiled, stating that Kansas City is “just an incredible, really neat place to be from.”
“Kansas City shows up and shows out whenever out-of-towners appear, as we’ve just had a great view of it with the way the world’s embraced it and the way they embraced the world during the World Cup,” the Hall Pass actor explained.
It is pertinent to mention that Ted Lasso season 4, which stars Jason Sudeikis along with Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, Jeremy Swift, Brendan Hunt, and Juno Temple, to name a few, premiered on Apple TV on August 5, 2026. Watch the trailer here.
