The Jamaat-led 11-party alliance will hold a divisional rally in Rangpur tomorrow (11 July) as part of its previously announced nationwide programme.
The alliance said the rally will press for the implementation of the public mandate reflected in the referendum, effective measures to implement the Teesta Master Plan, an end to border killings and push-ins, and steps to address public suffering.
Opposition Leader and Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dr Shafiqur Rahman will attend the rally as the chief guest. The event will be chaired by Leader of the Opposition Chief Whip and National Citizen Party (NCP) Convener Nahid Islam MP.
Among those expected to address the rally are Liberal Democratic Party President Col (retd) Oli Ahmad, Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish Secretary General Maulana Jalal Uddin, acting Ameer of Nezam-e-Islam Party Allama Abdul Qayyum Subhani, National Citizen Party Member Secretary Md Akhtar Hossain, Amar Bangladesh Party (AB Party) General Secretary Asaduzzaman Fuad, Bangladesh Labour Party Chairman Dr Mostafizur Rahman Iran, and other leaders of the 11-party alliance.
The alliance called on people from all walks of life across Rangpur Division to make the rally a success.
