Former private industry affairs adviser to ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, Salman F Rahman, expressed discomfort over the intense heat while being brought to court in a prison van for a hearing in Dhaka this morning (21 May).
Salman was accompanied by former law minister Anisul Huq and former MP of Dhaka-13 Sadek Khan.
Today around 9:30am, they were brought from Keraniganj Central Jail to the Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court in a prison van.
Salman was the first to be taken out of the prison van, where on-duty police officers made him wear a bulletproof vest, helmet and handcuffs before escorting him forward.
Expressing discomfort, he said, “I will die in this heat. It is very hot, extremely hot.”
Afterwards, former law minister Anisul Huq and former MP Sadek Khan were brought out.
Five minutes later, another prison van brought former State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak to court.
Palak said, “I am coming from the hospital, please pray for me. The pain is still there.”
He was later taken to the court’s lock-up.
According to court sources, Salman F Rahman, Anisul Huq and Sadek Khan were produced before the court in connection with separate money laundering cases.
