The Health Ministry has cancelled a directive requiring public and private hospitals and medical college libraries across the country to stock three books on BNP founder Ziaur Rahman and former prime minister Khaleda Zia.
The cancellation was issued on 18 October through a notice signed by Khandaker Robiul Islam, senior assistant secretary of the Health Services Division.
The notice said a letter on book purchases issued by the division’s Administration-2 branch on 27 September had been cancelled by order.
The original directive required libraries at all government and private hospitals and medical colleges to stock three books: President Zia: Political Biography, Begum Khaleda Zia: Life and Struggle and Shobar Age Bangladesh.
