The packages cover civil works, stations, tracks, electrical systems, signalling and other infrastructure.

The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase has approved procurement proposals for eight major infrastructure packages worth Tk58,477.71 crore under Dhaka’s Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Line-1 and Line-5 Northern Route projects.
The projects are being implemented by Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) with joint financing from the Bangladesh government and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (Jica).
The committee meeting was held at the Secretariat today (1 October), chaired by Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury.
