German Vice Minister Bärbel Kofler is due to arrive in Dhaka today (25 October) for a three-day official visit to hold government-to-government (G2G) negotiations on development cooperation between Bangladesh and Germany, according to a press release issued by the German Embassy in Dhaka.
The visit comes as Bangladesh undergoes economic transformation and prepares to graduate from Least Developed Country (LDC) status.
The discussions will focus on moving beyond traditional aid frameworks towards long-term resilience, economic adaptability and sustainable growth.
During the visit, Kofler will also hold political talks and visit projects in Chattogram.
In Dhaka, she will attend the celebration of German Reunification Day at the German Embassy, commemorating the reunification of East and West Germany in 1990 after decades of division during the Cold War.
The event will bring together senior government leaders, civil society representatives, members of the diplomatic community, and prominent cultural and media figures from Bangladesh and Germany.
The visit underscores Germany’s continued commitment to working with Bangladesh as a strategic partner in sustainable progress, said the embassy.
