The Election Commission (EC) has published the gazette listing the names and addresses of 49 elected members out of 50 reserved women’s seats in the 13th parliament.
The gazette was issued today (30 April), signed by KM Ali Newaz, who is serving as the EC secretary in routine charge.
One seat remains unresolved, with the matter still awaiting disposal by the EC.
Moin Uddin Khan, joint secretary of the EC and returning officer for the reserved women’s seats, said 36 candidates from the BNP alliance, 12 from the Jamaat alliance, and one independent candidate were declared elected unopposed on Wednesday
“After publication of their names, copies of the gazette will be sent to the parliament secretariat to arrange for the swearing-in of these members,” he said.
Although voting for the reserved seats was scheduled for 12 May, no election was required as there was only one candidate for each seat.
