Fuel loading at the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant in Ishwardi, Pabna, is set to begin on 28 April, marking a major step toward bringing Bangladesh’s first nuclear facility into operation.
Following the fuel loading, the plant is expected to start supplying electricity to the national grid on a trial basis by the end of July or in the first week of August, Science and Technology Secretary Anwar Hossain confirmed to The Business Standard tonight (23 April).
The fuel loading kick-off will mark the debut of RNPP unit-1, and afterwards, the plant will undergo multiple tests before starting electricity generation.
