A Bangladeshi farmer was injured after allegedly being shot while working on his own land near the border in the Chhagalnaiya area of Feni yesterday (4 September).
The incident took place at around 4pm in the Purba Joynagar border area.
The injured man, Mosharraf, 45, is a resident of the Joynagar area of Chhagalnaiya upazila.
He was taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital for treatment.
SI Nurul Alam Ashek, in charge of the Chattogram Medical College Hospital police outpost, said, “A man named Mosharraf has been admitted to the hospital after sustaining a gunshot wound in the border area. He has an injury to his back.”
Mosharraf alleged that while he was cultivating his own land near the border in the afternoon, a gunshot fired by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) struck the left side of his back, leaving him injured.
Mosharraf said doctors had removed several fragments of bullets from his body.
