The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has deployed its K9 unit at Kamalapur Railway Station to strengthen security and ensure safe and hassle-free Eid travel ahead of Eid-ul-Adha.
The move is part of enhanced security and surveillance measures aimed at preventing sabotage, criminal activities and other security threats during the Eid travel rush.
In a press release issued yesterday (24 May), DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) NM Nasiruddin said specially trained members of the K9 unit and dog squad are conducting regular searches and monitoring operations at station entrances, platforms, passenger luggage areas, waiting zones and other key points.
According to the DMP, the special security arrangements will remain in place throughout the Eid travel period to ensure passenger safety, detect suspicious objects, prevent acts of sabotage and maintain overall law and order.
