The Dhaka Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education has scrapped its “silent expulsion” rule for SSC exams, which allowed removing examinees discreetly over security concerns.
The provision, Article 29 of the 2026 exam policy, was nullified through a directive issued today (18 April), signed by Exam Controller Prof SM Kamal Uddin Haider.
The cancelled article stated that if public expulsion risked worsening law and order or threatening officials’ safety, a “silent expulsion” could be carried out.
It also instructed sending answer scripts in a separate sealed packet to the exam controller’s office after preparing a confidential report at the end of the exam.
The new notice said this article will be considered effectively cancelled from the date of issuance.
Officials announced that they would implement new guidelines for maintaining discipline at exam centres and the expulsion process following this decision.
