Three people died from dengue across the country in the 24 hours until this morning (20 July), while 372 new patients were admitted to hospitals during the same period.
With the latest figures, the death toll has reached 37 across the country.
The information was disclosed in a press release issued by the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
According to DGHS, of the three deaths, one was reported each from Dhaka South City Corporation, Barishal Division and Khulna Division.
Among the newly hospitalised patients, 67 were admitted in Barishal Division, 54 in Chattogram Division, 103 in Dhaka Division, 43 in Khulna Division, 21 in Mymensingh Division, four in Rajshahi Division and six in Rangpur Division, all outside the respective city corporation areas.
In the capital, 22 new patients were admitted to hospitals under Dhaka North City Corporation, while 52 were admitted under Dhaka South City Corporation.
So far, the total number of dengue cases recorded in the country this year has risen to 10,857.
A total of 346 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals during the reporting period, taking the total number of recoveries this year to 9,786.
