One person died of dengue and 870 new patients were hospitalised across Bangladesh in the last 24 hours, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The information was disclosed in a press release issued today (17 August) by the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of the DGHS.
The latest death was reported from Khulna division, taking the number of dengue-related deaths in the country this year to 71.
Meanwhile, 865 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals during the same period, bringing the total number of recoveries this year to 23,024.
With the latest admissions, the total number of dengue cases reported in Bangladesh this year has reached 24,848.
