The 4th Professor Dr Khobir Uddin Ahmed National Moot Court Competition 2026, a two-day event, started today (5 June) at Chittagong University campus with the participation of law students from across the country.
The competition took place at the Law Faculty Auditorium of the University of Chittagong and will continue tomorrow. This year’s theme is “International Humanitarian Law”.
Justice Syed Mohammad Tazrul Hossain, judge of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court, graced the event as the chief guest.
The competition was also attended by senior academic leaders of the Chittagong University, top legal professionals from the Supreme Court of Bangladesh and legal education figures from across the country.
In this two-day competition, 63 teams from 42 universities submitted written memorials, with 16 teams selected for the oral rounds. The competition will be held in five stages, including preliminary rounds, quarter-finals, semi-finals and the final.
According to the organisers, the competition will provide participants with an opportunity to demonstrate their legal knowledge, research and analytical abilities, and advocacy skills.
The event is also expected to enhance students’ critical thinking and courtroom debate skills, contributing to their overall development as future legal professionals.
