A crude bomb-like explosion was reported near the Technical intersection under Darus Salam Police Station in the capital tonight (23 June), causing panic among passers-by.
The incident occurred at around 8:20pm, approximately 100 feet west of the Technical crossing. The identities of those responsible could not be immediately confirmed.
Confirming the incident, Darus Salam Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Dulal Hossain said two individuals arrived at the spot on a motorcycle, detonated an object and quickly fled the area.
“However, it is not yet clear whether it was a crude bomb or a large firecracker. There was a loud explosion, and traces of gunpowder were found on the road. No one was injured in the blast,” the OC added.
