The first explosions occurred between 6:15pm and 6:45pm, when eight to nine crude bombs went off at five locations around Dhaka University and the adjoining Nilkhet area.
The blasts were reported at the university’s Teacher-Student Centre (TSC), the gate of the Senate Building, in front of Bangladesh-Kuwait Maitree Hall and Fazlul Huq Muslim Hall, and in the Nilkhet area.
Police detained three people in connection with those incidents.
Later, around 7:30pm, crude bombs were detonated outside the CID headquarters in Malibagh and inside Pallabi Police Station in Mirpur.
