Chief Justice Zubayer Rahman Chowdhury today administered the oath to newly appointed judge of the Appellate Division Justice Md Habibul Gani.
The oath-taking ceremony, conducted by Registrar General Mohammad Habibur Rahman Siddiquee, was held at the Supreme Court Judges’ Lounge this morning (30 August).
President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on 27 August appointed Justice Md Habibul Gani of the High Court Division as a judge of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court.
“The President made the appointment in accordance with Article 95(1) of the Constitution. The appointment will take effect from the day he takes oath of office,” said a gazette notification issued by the Law and Justice Division on that day.
Born on 31 May, 1962, Justice Md Habibul Gani obtained MSS and LLB degrees from the University of Chittagong.
He was enrolled as an advocate of the High Court Division of the Bangladesh Supreme Court on 11 April, 1992. He was elevated as an Additional Judge of the High Court Division on 18 April, 2010, and appointed as a Judge of the same Division on 15 April, 2012.
