China has congratulated Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir who has unofficially been elected the 23rd President of Bangladesh.
“Warm congratulations to Mirza Fakharul Islam Alamgir on his election as President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh,” said the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka today (20 August).
The Embassy said China attaches great importance to its relations with Bangladesh and stands ready to work closely with the Bangladeshi side to jointly build a Bangladesh-China community with a shared future in the new era, so as to deliver greater benefits to the two countries and the two peoples.
Meanwhile, British High Commission in Dhaka has congratulated Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on his election as the President of Bangladesh.
“The UK looks forward to working with Hon. President Fakhrul and the Government of Bangladesh to further strengthen the close and longstanding partnership between our two countries,” said the High Commission in a message.
