Bangladesh and Indonesia have stressed the need to expand bilateral trade, increase Indonesian investment in Bangladesh and explore new areas of economic cooperation.
Indonesian Ambassador to Bangladesh Listyowati made a courtesy visit to Bangladesh Bank Governor Md Mostaqur Rahman at the central bank’s headquarters in Dhaka today (4 October).
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on strengthening economic, trade and investment ties between Bangladesh and Indonesia, building on the existing friendly relations between the two countries.
They placed emphasis on expanding trade, increasing Indonesian investment in Bangladesh and identifying new areas for mutual economic cooperation.
The governor highlighted Bangladesh’s growing economy and investment potential and called for increased Indonesian investment in the country.
They also discussed the potential for increasing exports from Bangladesh to Indonesia, including readymade garments, electronic products, and pharmaceuticals, to make bilateral trade more balanced and diversified.
The Indonesian ambassador expressed interest in further strengthening economic and trade relations between the two countries and highlighted the potential for greater cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
