A Bangladeshi expatriate has succumbed to injuries he suffered in a road accident in Dubai of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The deceased was identified as Md Nur-e-Alam, 32, son of Ayet Ali of Gobindapur village in Burichang upazila of Cumilla.
Family sources said the accident occurred on 18 May while Nur-e-Alam and 11 other workers were returning from work in a company microbus.
A fuel-laden vehicle reportedly hit the microbus from behind, leaving several passengers critically injured.
The injured were admitted to a local hospital, where Nur-e-Alam died yesterday morning while undergoing treatment.
Three deaths have so far been reported in the incident.
According to family sources, Nur-e-Alam had been working in Dubai for around six years to support his family. He returned to Bangladesh on leave six months ago and later went back to his workplace.
He is survived by his wife and a 17-month-old son.
