Tanjil Ahmed Ruhullah, founding chairman of YoungShip Bangladesh and managing director and head of claims at Interport Group, has been elected to the YoungShip International Board as Regional Representative for Asia and the Middle East.
The election took place at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of YoungShip International held in Copenhagen, Denmark, on 17 June.
According to YoungShip Bangladesh, Ruhullah’s election reflects the growing recognition of Bangladeshi leadership within the global maritime industry and marks a significant achievement for the country’s shipping sector.
Ruhullah has been actively involved with the YoungShip network for several years and played a key role in establishing and developing the Bangladesh chapter.
Under his leadership, YoungShip Bangladesh focused on professional development, industry collaboration, youth engagement and policy dialogue, emerging as one of the organisation’s most active national branches.
In its official communication, the Election Committee of YoungShip International acknowledged Ruhullah’s dedication and contributions to the organisation and expressed confidence in his ability to serve in the new role.
As Regional Representative for Asia and the Middle East, Ruhullah will serve on the YoungShip International Board and represent members across one of the world’s most strategically important maritime regions. He will contribute to shaping the organisation’s global initiatives, strengthening regional cooperation and expanding opportunities for young maritime professionals across the region.
YoungShip Bangladesh congratulated Ruhullah on the achievement and expressed optimism that his leadership would further strengthen the global YoungShip community and enhance the visibility of Bangladesh within the international maritime sector.
