Chairman of Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation, Md Azizul Islam, has directed officials to ensure that quality seeds, balanced non-urea fertilisers, and irrigation facilities reach farmers smoothly and on time, as part of efforts to strengthen agricultural productivity.
He issued the directive during inspections of the Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation’s operations in Chuadanga, Jhenaidah, and Faridpur districts from 11–12 July.
During the visit, Md Azizul Islam stressed that all required procedures must be followed to deliver quality seeds to farmers, with no compromise.
He described Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation’s first domestic production of summer onion seeds as a significant challenge for the organisation. He called on officials to perform their duties with greater responsibility and accountability, in line with the approved work plan, to address this challenge.
The Chairman also instructed officials to monitor dealers’ sales of fertilisers to farmers after supplies have been delivered, ensuring transparency and proper distribution.
Following the inspections, Md Azizul Islam attended a discussion, stating that the country can prosper only when its farmers progress.
He emphasised the need for all officials to perform their duties with dedication, safeguard farmers’ interests, and contribute to the government’s efforts to build a modern, smart agricultural system.
