One person was killed, and three others were injured after a mini truck lost control and fell into a roadside ditch in Teknaf Upazila of Cox’s Bazar today (24 April).
The accident occurred around 2:30am in the Kanjarpara area under Hwaikong Union, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) Nurul Absar of Hwaikong Highway Police Station.
The deceased, Md Jisan, 22, son of Yusuf from Bainjuri village in Chandanaish Upazila of Chattogram. The identities of the injured could not be immediately confirmed.
According to police, the truck was heading towards Hnila in Teknaf from Chandanaish when it lost control in the Kanjarpara area and plunged into a roadside ditch.
Jisan died on the spot, while three other workers sustained injuries. The mini truck was carrying materials for wedding decoration.
Locals rushed to the scene, rescued the injured, and took them to MSF Hospital in Ukhiya for treatment.
