Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman left Dhaka for Malaysia yesterday (19 April) on a four-day official visit.
On Monday, he visited the Defence Services Asia and National Security Asia 2026 Exhibition in Kuala Lumpur as the representative of the Prime Minister and Defence Minister Tarique Rahman.
The exhibition, considered one of the largest in Asia, is showcasing modern defence systems, electronic warfare technologies, and a wide range of security and military equipment.
During the visit, the Army Chief is also scheduled to attend the 8th Putrajaya Forum tomorrow (21 April).
The forum will feature important discussions on the impact of emerging technologies on regional security and stability in the ASEAN region, along with various coordinated and collaborative policies and strategies.
He is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with relevant Malaysian representatives.
The visit is expected to further strengthen regional relations and security cooperation.
