Two Bangladeshi photographers have earned international recognition at the Sony World Photography Awards 2026, according to information published on the World Photography Organisation website.
Jubair Ahmed Arnob, a Dhaka-born photographer studying at Counter Foto, was named Student Photographer of the Year.
His series “The Place Where I Used to Play” documents the changing landscape of Green Model Town in Dhaka, capturing a community gradually disappearing under rapid urbanisation through a poetic visual style.
As part of the award, Arnob and his institution will receive Sony digital imaging equipment worth approximately €30,000, along with flights and accommodation to attend the ceremony in London.
His work will also be included in the official exhibition and annual book, alongside global promotion.
