The Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) has revised the schedule for fuel dispatch from depots in a bid to maintain a stable supply of petroleum products at filling stations across the country.
Under the new schedule, fuel distribution from major installations and depots will begin at 7am and continue until 3pm each day. Previously, the operations were conducted from 9am to 5pm.
The updated timing was announced in a order signed by BPC Secretary Shahina Sultana today (28 March).
The BPC stated that the decision was taken in line with instructions from the Energy and Mineral Resources Division to face the crisis arising from the Iran war in the Middle East.
“Fuel supply operations are continuing across the country through marketing companies to ensure uninterrupted availability,” it said.
To streamline distribution at the field level, the corporation said the readjusted timeline will apply to supply deliveries destined for filling stations, pond point dealers, and pumps nationwide.
The move aims to ensure that fuel reaches retail outlets in a timely and organised manner, preventing disruptions in supply chains and maintaining stability in the domestic market.
All concerned entities have been instructed to take necessary measures to implement the decision with immediate effect, the order added.
